Humans deal with life, love and loss in different ways, but for the most part, people want to be able to hold onto memories of cherished moments and happy times.
Sita is a Veteran artist and the owner and artisan behind Little Hollows Creations. She is a Civil Engineer, a Project Manager, a wheelchair basketball player, a wife, and most importantly – a mother. She is hard-working, focused and driven. She has served over eighteen years in the Australian Army within the Royal Australian Engineers.
In 2017, Sita experienced a loss prior to conceiving her son. As someone who is passionate about birth, loss and breastfeeding, these experiences started her on her journey into the world of tangible keepsakes and memorial jewellery. What started as a business for creating breastmilk and DNA (pet fur, hair, ashes, etc.) memorial jewellery has grown over the years to include other custom and bespoke jewellery and crafts.
Sita has always enjoyed being creative and loves to try new ideas, so if you have a vision, she would love to help you bring it to life! Sita’s vision for Little Hollows Creations is to create beautiful crafts and keepsakes for you to cherish.
WHAT'S IN A NAME?
When Sita’s eldest son was born, he had a true knot in his umbilical cord and also had his cord wrapped around his neck - luckily neither was tight which meant that he arrived earth-side alive and healthy. Sita and her hubby, Troy, decided to name their little fighter, Logan; a good strong name, and also after Wolverine because, well, he is awesome!
Logan is Sita’s main reason for starting on this journey so she wanted her business name to be linked to him somehow. Sita’s cultural background is Balinese, Chinese, English, Irish and Scottish; and her husband’s background is English, Irish, German, Norwegian and Swedish – a massive mix! When doing research into different names, Sita stumbled upon the Scottish-Gaelic definition of ‘Logan’ – which is ‘Little Hollow’, and knew straight away that this was it. As an engineer, she also loves working with wood, and the symbolism of trees (new life, family, roots, new beginnings etc), so naming her business ‘Little Hollows Keepsakes’ seemed very fitting! The colour scheme behind the logo is the same unique blue-grey colour of little Logan’s eyes from when he was 2-3 years old.
